A Naming Scheme for Identifiers in HiiMap
نویسندگان
چکیده
Many researchers agreed that the split of locator and identifier seems to be a very promising approach. Although this solution addresses the most critical issues in todays Internet architecture, new challenges arise through the mapping system which is necessary to resolve identifiers into the corresponding locators. One interesting question is how the naming of identifiers is done. In this work we give an overview of a naming scheme for identifiers based on the HiiMap locator/identifier split Internet architecture. The naming scheme supports user friendly identifiers for hosts, content and persons and does not rely on DNS. We furthermore give a possible solution for a search algorithm that can deal with spelling mistakes.

Naming and Addressing of Objects Without Unique Identifiers
This paper proposes the hierarchical naming scheme, which is a way of naming and addressing suitable for large-scale distributed systems. FIrst, assumptions of the systems are provided, and features required for naming in the systems are discussed. Then, the methods for giving location-independent IDs and addresses representing objects' location are proposed. Our scheme constructs global IDs an...
متن کاملA Distributed Public Key Infrastructure Based on Threshold Cryptography for the HiiMap Next Generation Internet Architecture
In this article, a security extension for the HiiMap Next Generation Internet Architecture is presented. We regard a public key infrastructure which is integrated into the mapping infrastructure of the locator/identifier-split addressing scheme. The security approach is based on Threshold Cryptography which enables a sharing of keys among the mapping servers. Hence, a more trustworthy and fair ...
متن کاملRandom, Ephemeral Transaction Identifiers in Dynamic Sensor Networks
Recent advances in miniaturization and low-cost, low-power design have led to active research in large-scale, highly distributed systems of small, wireless, low-power, unattended sensors and actuators. We explore the use of Random, Ephemeral TRansaction Identifiers (RETRI) in such systems, and contrast it with the typical design philosophy of using static identifiers in roles such as node addre...
متن کاملNaming: Design Pattern and Framework
Naming is an important, but frequently overlooked, aspect of software systems. Usually, naming appears combined with other issues, e.g. distributed communication technology. This paper treats naming in isolation. It presents a naming design pattern which abstracts several naming policies and an object-oriented framework that can be customized to support naming policies. Applications designer ca...
متن کاملSIDMAP: A Service-oriented Mapping System for Loc/ID split Internet Naming
While locator/identifier split makes Internet routing more scalable, the promise of a mapping system that resolves a service to corresponding location is yet to be realized. Part of the challenge is due to most current approaches only focusing on how to find the location of a host, not the location of a service, which make these systems rely on extra naming system to provide applications the re...
